FACTS ABOUT NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA (NOUN)

What is NOUN?

NOUN mean National Open University of Nigeria, this institution happens to be the first of its kind in Nigeria and West African Region. Nation Open University of Nigeria was established in the year 2002 and owned by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The University is an Online Based Institution whereby student will do most of the school activities online including, lecture AND Test, only practical and Exam are been scheduled to hold at the Study Centres.

What is NOUN Portal?

The National Open University of Nigeria have different portal for different Purposes e.g NOUN TMA Portal, NOUN Student Portal and the likes.
But the Main Portal/Website of NOUN is noun.edu.ng, on the main website there are links to other portals.
  
BEWARD: the are many websites claims to be owned by NOUN, but which are not originally owned by the institution.


Does NOUN required JAMB?

All the Universities in Nigeria require JAMB Exam as primary critaria for admission but I want to tell you that Nation Open University of Nigeria is one of the University in Nigeria that Offer Admission without JAMB

What is NOUN Admission Requirements?

Like othe Universities, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) also have admission requirent as applicable  to cadidates  depending on Programme or Course of choice

The Institution does not require jamb as I have said eairlier, but the general requirements for getting admission into the National Open University of Nigeria include five (5) credits in the SSCE/GCE O’Level/NECO/NABTEB or equivalents at not more than two (2) sittings obtained in subjects relevant to the proposed field(s) of study. The five (5) credits include Credits in Mathematics, English and 3 other relevant subjects

NOUN is a Distance Learning Centre with no Specific Campus, but  NOUN  headquarter is located at University Village Plot 91, Cadastral Zone, Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway, Jabi, Abuja, Nigeria

How Much is NOUN Form?

NOUN Application for fee is as follows
Undergraduate Programmes     Five thousand naira  (N5,000)
Postgraduate (PGD and Masters) Programmes: seven thousand five hundred naira (N7,500)
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Programmes     Ten Thousand naira (N10,000)
