O'level requirement for food science and technology

General O'level Requirements: Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Physics, Basic Catering and Food Services, Bakery and    Confectionaries, Hotel & Catering Crafty course (Cookery), Hotel & Catering Craft Course (Food /Drinks Services) and Basic Electricity.

O'level Special Consideration

• BELLS requires five (5) O Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics/ Agricultural Science/ Geography or Economics/ Food and Nutrition. May consider O Level pass in Physics.
• FUTO requires Biology as the fifth (5th) subject.
• IBADAN - As in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering.
• LAUTECH accepts Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.
• OAU does not accept Biology in lieu of Physics

UTME subject combination for Food Science and Technology

General UTME Subject Combination: Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics or Biology.

UTME SUBJECTS Special Considration: 

• BELLS accepts physics/mathematics.
• FUTO does not accept Biology.
• IBADAN does not accept Biology
• LAUTECH requires Physics
• MAIDUGURI requires Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and any one of Physics and Mathematics.

Direct Entry (D.E) requirements for Food Science and Technology
Direct Entry General requirements: A Level passes in two (2) of Physics Chemistry, and Mathematics.

DIRECT ENTRY General Special Consideration:

• BELLS accepts: Two (2) A Level passes in Chemistry/Physics/ Biology/ Mathematics. ND/HND/ IJMB in relevant programmes.
• FUTO requires at least two (2) A Level passes not below C from Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. Accepts ND/HND upper credit in relevant programmes. Candidates must in addition meet O Level requirements. Does not accept first degree or NCE
• IBADAN - as in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering. Accepts A Level passes in Mathematics and Chemistry plus UTME requirements.
• LAUTECH accepts ND/HND upper credit in relevant programmes into 200 level and A Level passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. LAUTECH may accept A Level Biology in lieu of Physics.
• MAIDUGURI accepts O Level credit pass in Biology.
• OAU accepts:  ND upper credit in Food Science and Technology. ND/HND upper credit plus five (5) O Level credit passes.
• WESLEYUNI accepts: At least 2 A level passes in Chemistry, Agricultural Science or Biology, Physics or Home Economics.
• NCE merit/credit and ND upper credit in addition to five (5) O Level credit passes or equivalents.
