After the release of the  2019 academic section JAMB CUTOFF MARKS, the next in minds for candidates is all about POST UTME. 

What is the 2019/2020 Cutoff Marks?


The 19th Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria has approved 160 and above as the national minimum cutoff for admission for the year 2019 into public universities.
The meeting held at Bola Babalakin Auditorium, Gbongan, Osun State, on Tuesday also approved 140 as minimum UTME score for admission into private universities.


Public polytechnic, 120 UTME score was approved, while 110 score was approved as the least score for admission into private polytechnic.

This year general cutoff Mark is not a guarantee that you will get admission but it means that you have to as well prepare for the post utme. Some schools do screening which involves checking your jamb result, O'level and all your documents. While some conduct post utme.


When will all School start their Post Utme/Pre Admission screening?




The 19th Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria also speaks about how this year Post UTME registration and examination will be conducted as The chairman, Benjamin informed the candidates to start preparing for the examination as soon as possible.

The boards agreed that the post utme registration will kickoff  on first week of July so that it will enable all the schools to round up their section and get ready for this year admission.
The post utme registration fees will not be more than #2000.

Changing of Institution and courses

Just as I have said earlier in this post, the general cutoff does not implies that you can just change to any university since you have met the minimum cutoff 

As a matter of fact some school will have ther own minimum cutoff to be more than that which some school will stil go with the Jamb minimum cuttoff mark. 


School that will never accept 160  but 200 as the minimum cutoff to study in course

University of Ibadan
Obafemi Awolowo University
University of Lagos
but schools like
University of Ilorin
Ahmadu Bello University
Fderal University, Oye-Ekiti
and other federal university may probably accept 180 for some courses like Education and Agric Course but 200 and above for competitive courses. 

Some state and private  universities may use jamb minimum cutoff while some will decide to use more and something applicable to the polytechnics and colleges of education. 

In the light of this don't just think you can just change to any because you met jamb minimum cutoff.
School that will conduct post utme exam and school that will not. 

Some school like Ahmadu Bello University, University of Ibadan, University of Ilorin, Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Lagos Federal University of Agriculture, University of Port-Harcourt, Federal Polytechnic Ede, Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, and some other schools wil conduct post utme exam while school like Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Federal University Binni Kebbi, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro and some other schools will not conduct post utme. 

If your chosen school will conduct post utme exam you have to get past question and start ready because the POST UTME exam will kickoff soon but if you school is school is doing only physical or oral screening the only thing you need is to prepare document for the screening.
 

What are the documents need for the post utme/Pre Admission screening?

Below are the necessary required documents document: 
  1. O'level Results ( WAEC and NECO or any other examination exercise approved by Jamb)
  2. Jamb Original Result, see How to Print Original UTME result slip showing the Candidate’s photograph
  3. Identification letter from your state of origin
  4. Birth certificate
  5. Testimonial
  6. Passport (white or red background)

Note: if you have lost your jamb slip, dont be panic as your original result slip will also contain the details of your choosing school.
