JAMB Changing if Institution/Course: Procedure, price, Challenges and closing date 


In case you don't know, Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced 2019/2019 UTME/DE Change of Institution, which is very important to determine your chances of gaing admission this year.

The body (JAMB)  has also announced the cuttoff for the year, which will also go a long way in helping candidates in Changing of Course/Institution but you must me be very carefully as some schools will never draw same as JAMB minimum cutoff for admission into their own institution, you can Click here  to know the Likely cutoff for all school.

I have been asked many question regarding ongoing changing of institution/course which I will answer everything in detail with this post.

Can I do Changing of 2019/2019 Institution/Course myself, at the Cafe or I should go to the CBT Centre?

Candidates have to understand the jamb correct of data is of two types, that is UTME AND D.E CORRECTION OF DATA. 

For UTME CANDIDATES: You can do this do the Jamb changing of Institution/Course your self or proceed to Cafe where they can handle it for you if you can not handle it yourself, Just want you to understand that you don't have any   reason to go to the CBT centre for the UTME Changing of Institution/Course.

FOR D.E CANDIDATES: The Direct Entry Change of Institution/Course can only be done at the CBT Centre becuse their own requires biometrics capture, so candidate that want to do D.E Correction of Data (Change of Institution/Course) should proceed to the CBT Centre.

How much is change of institution form?

Your are required to make make the payment of ₦ 2,500 with remita charge of ₦ 157.50  making ₦ 2,657.50, but if you go to the cafe they will also collect their own service charge which will be determine by them. 

How can I do my changing of Institution/Course myself?

If you want to do the UTME JAMB  Institution/Course myself yourself you have to follow the following step.
  1. Visit https://www.jamb.org.ng/efacility./
  2. Log on to your Jamb profile with your Email and Password
  3. Click on Registration (2019 Only), then click on option Registration (2019 Only) as indicated above, after which you will be directed to payment page
  4. Click on Make Payment with Remita
  5. Click on continue to payment
  6. Click on pay now, then you will be redirect to remita payment page
  7. Enter your card details if you are making the payment online or choose bank branch and print invoice to make payment in the bank
  8. After the payment approval, you will be re-directed to payment confirmation page
  9. Click on continue and you will be re-directed to the page which where you will be able to make the change (s).

Challenges and solution:
I could not find the Institution I want to choose listed under my school of choice, Why?

This may occur due to the changing of Name by the school you want to choose, if you encounter this problem, try to get the New name for the school and you will find it on jamb portal 

Example: Moshood Abioly Polytechnic (MAPOLY) is not more on jamb listed school due to the fact that the name of the school has been changed to Ogun State Polytechnic and you will definitely find that on JAMB Portal

I could not find the course I want to choose listed under my school of choice, why? 

Couple of days ago I want to change course/Institution for  Daugherty of a  client of mine but after choosing the school I realized the course she want to study is not listed under the school, I quickly open a new tab on  my browser to check the school website for the list of course and the course is listed there, and even before then, I have received phone call asking me what could be cause and  the solution to the problem 

This may look somehow, only the victim will understand better

After I saw the course on the school portal, I pick up my phone to call  a JAMB official to know what could be the problem and now I could find answer to the question and solution to the problem

Two thingS may occur:
  1. JAMB may or not have considered the course  approved for the school by the board or NUC 
  2. The course may be under another course or faculty listed under the school on jamb portal, Example, Federal College of Agriculture is offering Animal Health and Production but you can not find this course  listed on JAMB portal, the course is under Agricultural Technology and that is what you will choose in JAMB if you want to study the coourse in the school.

My advice for candidate facing this kind of problem is that  you school,  find out maybe the course my be embedded under one faulty or course listed in jamb portal

And if it's that the course is not approved by JAMB for the school, you may have to change institution if you insist in studying the course but you can consider another course if you still want to go for the school.
