This exam is always 9month to A year programme i.e two academic semester, the  final exam will be conducted by the exam body at the end of the second semester.
There are three common A'level programmes in Nigeria:

The interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination is an exam moderated by the great Ahmadu Bello University and it is fully approved by the Federal Govenment.
IJMBE seems to be a new A'level exam to people because I could remember when someone argued with me that IJMBE was established 5years ago, but I am using this medium to tell you this exam is the oldest A'level exam in Nigeria, and it was esterblished in 1976.

JUPEB
JUPEB is an examinations body approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2013 and it is It was  established formally in 2014 by a consortium of ten (10) partnering universities led by the prestigeous University of Ibadan.
The first JUPEB  examinations was conducted in August 2014 and successful candidates were admitted into 200 Level by JAMB based on recommendations from the universities. With effect from 2015, JUPEB Examinations holdS in June annually.

ENROLMENT
If you want to enrol into an A'level programme
1. You have to choose and know the centre you want to do the programme
2. Register for the programme e.g IJMBE registration starts around February and that of JUPEB starts January.

Note: There are some associate tutorial centres that also affiliate to some schools that have centres for the A'level programme, you can also register with them but bewared as some are scammers that just collect your money and give you inadequate tools for the programme.
